Kristy Rickert of Darwin's Rix Kix Arts Dance Studio has worked nationally and internationally as a professional dancer.
She has chased the best dance tuition that Australia and the U.S has to offer and has collated an enormous range of knowledge from the dance world over the past 15 years.
Previous training in Darwin has involved performing with local Tracks Dance Company, Ricardo Dance Studio, NT Dance Company and holding youth dance workshops throughout rural N.T.
Kristy Rickert completed high school at the John Curtin College of the Arts in Fremantle, W.A.
In 2005, she went on to study a Certificate IV in Performing Arts in dancing, singing and acting at Brent Street Studios in Sydney, NSW.
During 2006-2008, The Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts became Kristy's second home and this is where she attained her Bachelor of Dance.
It was during this period that she embarked on a life changing journey as an exchange student at the University of North Carolina, USA.
Upon graduaing and travelling much of the world, Kristy was employed as a professional dancer and teacher throughout Singapore and Mexico.
Professional employment has included dancing for commerical film clips, The MTV Awards, The Wiggles, Track's Dance Company, and was a full time dancer for an all inclusive family resort. It was the Rix Kix Performance Troop Dancers that were the back-up dancers for Jessica Mauboy at the 2011 Arafura Opening Games Ceremony.
Kristy Rickert's passion is now in teaching and she has just completed a Graduate Diploma of Education and Learning.
Also, a qualified gym instructor, Kristy intends to continue creating a dynamic Darwin Dance scene for the well-being of every aspiring dancer.
Kristy's qualifications include a Bachelor of Dance, Certificate III in Health & Fitness, Certificate IV in Performing Arts and a Graduate Diploma of Education and Learning.
